🕊️ Welcome to the Capuchin Friary at Knock Shrine

A Brother’s Welcome

There is a particular kind of silence at Knock — not an empty silence, but a living one.

A silence that listens.

A silence that holds.

A silence that has carried the prayers of millions who have walked this holy ground before us.

Here in the Capuchin Friary, we try to live inside that silence with open hands and open hearts. Our life is simple: prayer, fraternity, and the gentle ministry of presence. But simplicity does not mean smallness. In the quiet rhythms of our days — the kettle boiling, the Angelus bell ringing, the soft shuffle of sandals in the corridor — God is always near.

This blog is our way of sharing that nearness with you.

Whether you are a pilgrim passing through, a neighbour from the village, or someone seeking a moment of peace from afar, you are welcome here. We hope these reflections, stories, and glimpses of friary life will offer you encouragement, companionship, and a sense of belonging.

You will find:

– Reflections from the Shrine and from the heart

– Stories of friary life, where grace hides in the ordinary

– Pilgrimage moments that remind us God walks with us

– Franciscan insights for living simply and gently

– Updates on retreats, prayer, and ministry

At Knock, Mary appeared not with words, but with presence.

That is the heart of our mission too.

So come as you are.

Sit with us for a moment.

Let the quiet speak.

From all of us at the Capuchin Friary:

Peace. Presence. Hope.
